horse Colors: White

White Horses

Technically there is no such thing as a white horse.

Horses that are white in color are either Gray horses, a very light palomino,  Champaign or one of the double cream gene colors such as Cremello or Perlino.

Picture
This palomino horse is so light in color that he could easily be mistaken for a gray. If it weren't for the dark skin around his nose, he might even be mistaken for one of the cream gene colors.
Picture
This gray mare is about as white a horse as you're ever going to see, but was born a different color and gradually turned white over the course of her life.
Picture
This cremello horse is white in body color, but has pink skin underneath, creating a kind of metallic sheen to the body.
