Breeding Costs
Here's a list of typical costs if you were to breed to our stallion. (updated 2019 for Western Montana near Missoula)

If you are breeding to our stallion, all additional expenses will be checked out with you before they are incurred.
- Stud Fee: $500
- Mare Care: $10/day, $300/month - the mare typically stays here a little less than a month but can stay much shorter or much longer times. It's a good estimate to assume it will require 1 month of board, but be ready for more if she doesn't take on the first try.

Other common expenses include:
- multiple pregnancy checks if the mare doesn't get pregnant on the first try
- additional ultra sound vet exams if the mare does not come into heat in a normal way and we must determine why
- additional mare care if the mare doesn't get pregnant on the first try and must stay longer
- additional transport costs if the mare has to be re-bred at some point
